Are Ezekiel Tortillas raw?

No, they're not. Neither are their breads. But they are cooked at

lower temperatures than traditional breads and have sprouted grains

rather than processed ones. If you're not worried about going 100%

raw then they're an option.

I use them when I have company comping and make burritos and its a build your

own thing......the only difference is I make a bowl of grilled chicken for the

guests who dont eat raw.....and they love the taste of the ez torts....

How about truly raw tortillas? Here's the one I use from Cousen's " Rainbow

Green Life Food Cuisine " :

 

1 C golden flax seeds, soaked

1/2 ripe avocado

Celtic salt to taste

Water for consistency

 

Blend ingredients in Vita-Mix or blender, adding water to create a smooth

batter. Spread 1/2 C batter evenly on Teflex sheets--to a thickness of about

1/4 " and 6 " in diameter. The thinner your batter, the less time it will take to

dehydrate. Dehydrate at 95 degrees for 2 - 3 hours, flip the tortillas over and

remove the Teflex sheet, and continue dehydrating 2 - 3 hours more until the

tortillas are soft and flexible. Remove the tortillas from the dehydrator

before they are crisp. Makes ten 6 " tortillas.
