So will parchment work for fruit or will it get too wet! Thanks again. Oh yeah...I bought the master cleanse book off amazon.com a few days ago and it came in the mail today. (only took 3 days...WOW!) But I am glad I am reading it first, there sure is a lot of useful information in the book about how and why the fast works and what to expect and most importantly how to come off the fast a nice safe way! Yes, you can use parchment for " wetwork " ... I first encountered it as a way to steam fish in the oven. (when I would open it up, all this water would be there to deal with!) > Oh yeah...I bought the master cleanse book > I am glad I am reading it first, there sure is a lot of useful > information in the book about how and why the fast works and > what to expect and most importantly how to come off the fast > a nice safe way! Fabulous!!! If you read the book, you will be more " tempted " to do the fast without modifications -- you are reading the " master's words " , so to speak! Stanley Burroughs was a fantastic therapist. He developed this program, which has been widely disseminated *and used successfully* throughout the Western world. He commented on " modifications " , as I have, here, and strongly advised against them. Reading his books on Master Cleanse can only strengthen your resolve, *and your ability to be successful* on the Master Cleanse. Let me know if you have any questions! > Now if I can just find a raw way to treat depression Put simply: Most depression is cause by a lack of seratonin in the brain. If you get enough protein, your body/brain will make seratonin. EFAs also affect seratonin. If you eat too much simple sugar, it will block the seratonin. Artificial sweeteners, such as aspartame, block seratonin production. Up your protein consumption, cut your consumption of simple sugars, and make sure you are getting enough EFAs, and you should see a reduction in depression. one of the amazing things that I see in mainstream nutrition reports these days is that " people who are overweight tend to have a lack of seratonin in the brain. Depression is a symptom " .... as a formerly overweight person, I know how that works... you go on a diet of lettuce leaves... you get depressed and eat some potato chips -- which contain SUGAR as well as EXCITOTOXINS, so you easily finish the whole bag.. then you are not hungry for a normal meal -- of course not! You have consumed multitudinous calories! and then you get depressed. You eat ice cream (sugar sugar sugar) and it helps for a while (sugar) but then you are depressed. You drink diet soda, and you remain depressed. Clinical depression never was a big issue until we started eating " low-fat " -- between eliminating fats and adding sugar to keep flavor, food had just gotten more " depressing " Substitute protein snacks and foods (figure out how-- if you want to know what I do, email me privately -- I will not post that here! no, I am not secretly eating anything that had a mother) and snacks and foods high in EFAs (dehydrated flax seeds are a winner! all those vegetables called " high in fat " , like avocado, are good!), and you should see a difference. As a formerly depressed and quite fat person, I personally to a high protein way of eating. It works for me. When I go off it, I get fat, and I get depressed. I get depressed, and I get fat. I get depressed because I get fat. I get fat because I get depressed. No win. When I eat " right " , those things don't happen.
