Guest guest
Actually, everything that grows has protein in it. Growing up in America we are taught that we need much more than we do. There is enough in a raw food diet with only occasional use of nuts and seeds. Guest guest
The average American overeats protein by 150% A DAY!!!! Mother's milk, designed to nourish a growing child, is only between 4 - 8% protein. 8% for a growing body, think about it. Shari

Guest guest
So Keifer King, why the sour grapes about recipes? Some of us take classes and respect the teachers rights to their recipes. Some of us are saving our own recipes to write a book. Didn't see you posting any recipe with your comment. Shari
Guest guest
There has to be a difference between hemp seed and marijuana seed. Because hemp seeds don't make people high when they eat them! Judy In a message dated 3/25/2006 7:53:48 PM Eastern Standard Time, no_reply writes: I don't guess there's any difference. Whoever grows it for seed or cloth or rope has to get licensed through the DEA. There aren't many outfits that are approved so most of it is grown outside the US, from what I've been able to learn. As for the hemp seed that we eat, the hulled seed no doubt would not grow if planted. Guest guest
I get 7% easily with no added nuts or seeds. Guest guest
Yep! Click on " Files " on the left side of the web page and you will find a gold mine of recipes. I think most of us have contributed. Margaret has worked hard to organize and file them. Guest guest
I am not sure of the answer of what the difference is but suspect it may be different varieties. I do know that what I buy say no " THC " or something like that which means that it does not contain the substance that makes you high. Having said this my daughter and son-in-law will not eat any because they work for the government and are subject to random drug testing. He claims that some people who test positive for drugs sweat that it is from hemp seed or hemp oil. Not sure I believe it can cause positive drug tests but am not in a position where I have to worry about it. tammy On Mar 25, 2006, at 7:53 PM, jerushy1944 wrote: > I don't guess there's any difference. Guest guest
The recipes I have put on here (except for one that Margaret asked me to post) have been my own creations. If anyone can benefit from them, that will be reward enough for me. The others (besides the aforementioned one) I have linked to. Except for Instant Raw Sensations, I haven't found a source of recipes that met my expectations of being quick, easy, and nutritious so I've gotten all the rest that I have ever used (and most of them just once) online. For free. There are lots of sources out there. All you have to do is look. And most of the teachers will post a sample of theirs even if they have an " uncookbook " to sell. If a recipe is online, I figure it's in the public domain. Tommie http://www.rawburchard.blogspot.com rawfood , " SV " <shavig wrote: > > So Keifer King, why the sour grapes about recipes? Guest guest
Protein seems to be the thing people are so concerned about when they find out that I am working toward being raw one day. Right now I am very close to being vegan (I still have a serving of fish maybe once a week). DS2 is very close to being vegan too. The question I hear so much is " What do you do about protein? " I do my best to answer nicely. I am very surprised how many parents I have encountered that get so upset when their child will only eat veggies and fruit. I heard the other day " She won't even eat the chicken nuggets from McDonald's. " My answer " That's a bad thing? " ~ Laura rawfood wrote: Message: 2 Fri, 24 Mar 2006 17:56:15 -0800 " SV " Re: Re: protein source The average American overeats protein by 150% A DAY!!!! Guest guest
My niece's son is allergic to soy so he can't eat the veggie meats. My sister is desperately hoping he will outgrow it and I think, " WHY? " He's so much better off without it.
