Guest guest
I am just about to buy a vitamix and a champion juicer. But as I have been reading posts about the two I started wondering if I NEED both or if the vitamix can do every thing that the juicer does... Make sense? If both will make smoothies and juice things like carrots... why get both? But if the juicer does things that the vitamix can't do, then I will still get both. Suggestions appreaciated before I shell out the $$. Leah SV <shavig wrote: I run vegetables and soaked nuts through for a great pate or cracker " dough " - with the blank in place. Guest guest
They both have their advantages. I own the Champion but really want a Vitamix. The juicer takes out all the pulp, which there are great benefits in doing, but the Vitamix leaves the pulp in it (so it would be a smoothie) and leaves you all the fiber.....it's better absorbed in your body when it is in smoothie form though. From what I understand, the Vitamix can do just about anything as far as blending, so you probably wouldn't need a food processor. But it is not the same thing as a juicer. We've been talking about " ice cream " too in the last couple of days. The Champion makes the BEST soft serve banana (or other fruit) ice cream. I'm not sure if you can get the same consistancy in the Vitamix or not. HTH! Guest guest
Hi Leah, They do different things. The Vita Mix is a powerful blender. You can use it to make smoothies and soups. I use mine everyday. A juicer extracts the juice from the veggies leaving the pulp and fiber behind. If I had it to do over again I would purchase a Champion juicer or one of the juicers that has a blank screen and is able to homogenize. It will make things like ice cream out of fruit as well as nut butters which are supposedly smooth and creamy. Guest guest
Leah, I think you need both if you what to do " everything. " The blender can't make solid juices, and the juicer can't make " smoothies. " the Juicer can make fantastic " icecream " and juice. The blender is great for smoothies that can be a wonderful source of fiber (with the pulp). I use my blender more then my juicer, but I also just learned that juicers can make amazing " ice cream " ...who would have thought? Hope that helps. Guest guest
The vitamix, which I have and love, does not do the clear like juices as the vitamix would also include the " fiber " that the juicers discharge. I have an inexpensive juicer for those times I want a thin juice (without the fiber). The vitamix would offer you much more, in my opinon, that the juicer would. Why not try the vitamix and if it does the juice like you want then you don't need to buy the juicer. If not then get the juicer that will meet your needs. Trish Burrows sunflowers2 P.O.
