Guest guest
The naturopath I see frequently recommends oregano oil for pain relief and headaches. I have only used it once myself and had good results. .....The taste isn't so great, so I put my drops of oil into veggie capsules that I get at the health food store to be able to swallow them without tasting them. I also use ice packs on the back of my neck or across the forehead area to headaches. 20 minutes on then 20 minutes off. For inexpensive ice packs I took a clean tube sock and filled it with rice (since we don't eat rice anymore!!) and tied off the open end. I keep the rice filled sock in a zip lock bag in the freezer, so we always have a cold pack ready. I got the idea from a $30 neck wrap that I bought at an aroma therapy store... when I noticed the ingredients were herbs, essential oils and rice...... Hope he feels better soon. Guest guest
We use White Willow Bark for headaches. It comes in capsule form. Shari
Guest guest
Oregano oil *is* good for so many things, including infections! For headaches and most pains, though, I use lavender essential oil, neat. For headaches, I rub it into my temples, and on the back of my neck. For good measure I put a dab on the end of my nose (at least I will smell something nice!) Another inexpensive icepack is a bag of frozen peas. You can put it back in the refrigerator and refreeze it again and again if you are not intending to eat it. (you can also put it in a ziploc bag if you think the plastic might tatter) Margaret Leah Morrison wrote: > The naturopath I see frequently recommends oregano oil for pain relief and headaches. <snip> The taste isn't so great, so I put my drops of oil into veggie capsules that I get at the health food store to be able to swallow them without tasting them. <snip> For inexpensive ice packs I took a clean tube sock and filled it with rice <snip> and tied off the open end.
