Guest guest
Have any of you attending one of Paul Nison's speaking events? What did you think? There is one 2.5 hours away from me, and I am thinking about going. I haven't read any of his books, if I go, I will probably pick them up then. Thanks in advance for your input. Guest guest
I've seen him speak. His knows his stuff and it was worth going to, but if you're not Christian you may be put off by him. If I remember correctly, the first part of his talk was heavy on nutrition and his personal experience healing himself, and the second part was heavy on religion. Having said that, the talk I went to was about five years ago, so he may have something totally different going on now. He also gave a coconut opening lesson that was worth hanging out for Bridgitte > > Have any of you attending one of Paul Nison's speaking events? Guest guest
i went to see paul speak about 2 years back (new to raw then) and it's exactly what you describe below bridgitte - i personally did enjoy the first part but thought the latter part was out of place. primarily because there was an outline of the topics he was going to cover and the latter part of the speaking engagement was not on the outline, so for the time given he only spend half on the topics outlined when i thought he was going to spend the whole time covering those. -birte I've seen him speak. The only people I have ever " met " that are raw, are the people in this group!! Leah Bridgitte <syndactylcat wrote: I've seen him speak. Guest guest
Hi Leah, I've heard him a couple times, and he always makes me laugh. He provides interesting info in a humorous way. I always leave recharged. My only suggestion for him: He talks a LONG time before taking questions (like 2 hours straight!), and my brain gets tired from all of the intensity. I'd appreciate it if he broke things up a bit, so I could rest my brain. I think you'll find it was definitely worth going. BTW, my favorite books of his are Raw Knowledge I and II, where he interviews long-time raw foodists on what they eat, what they've learned, etc. HTH! Guest guest
Leah, It is going to depend on what type of lecture he is doing. I recently had the oppertunity to go to two of his lectures in the same day. One was aimed towards people who were thinking about eating raw, the other to people who were raw. I found the first one to be Ok, the second one was very informative. Maybe you can email the site and see what type of lecture he will be giving?
