Guest guest
I read what you said about CPS and I AGREE with you whole heartly. You are right on the mark. My husband and I had dealings with them, they came into our church on a Sunday morning with policemen looking for us because we were raising our pre-adopted child in a vegetarian household. Think that's odd, just look around, other families are going through similar situations. These people have very little or no education when it comes to good nutrition and what you don't understand you don't trust. We were taken to court our adoption was cancelled but we came out of it stronger than ever. We have talked with other parents and given them education and support. This mistrust of our lifestyle is growing and if we can work harder to get these people educated it will make life easier for us and safer for our families. Our son was given to a non-vegetarian couple to raise, it's sad to think that the " old 4-food group " is still alive and thriving. Those of us in the know are blessed. Thanks again Pruegert for speaking out the same thing we have been saying for years. God Bless You and keep on keeping ON!!!!!! Guest guest
I am so sorry to hear you lost your kids! That is so sad! I don't even know you and I want to cry! I think the way I was attacked proved my point that the *wrong* people are the ones who are accused while the children who really do need help get overlooked. I seriously don't think it's done intentionally, but they are way over protective of the wrong kids sometimes. I think it's sad that so many families have been torn apart unnecessarily. It makes it even worse when the media gets involved! A very good friend of mine had her two children taken from her 2 years ago on her 25th birthday! She spanks her children, and they found a bruise on one of them (someone who is against spanking reported them). Fortunately they were only in the " community foster care center " (whatever it's called) for a few days and then were able to go to their grandparents house for the next few months and were finally returned home. She was also pregnant with her 3rd child and now has a 4th and worried about them being taken in the future as well. The whole thing only lasted 5 months, but the girls are still trying to get " back to normal " in some areas. What was the scariest though is the case worker was on the news during this time. The police had to kick their door down to get in the house to arrest them. The husband was a priest (such a sad example!) and was sexually abusing his 5 and 7 year old girls, and his wife (the case worker) knew about it and did nothing! She didn't even protect her own children!!! It just breaks my heart! I'll be praying for you. That must be so hard. Are you at least able to have contact/visitation? Did you already know the family that has your son? Cindy I read what you said about CPS and I AGREE with you whole heartly. You are right on the mark. Guest guest
You losing a child over feeding it healthy is enough to make me sick... We start off feeding our newborns only the best.... I have never seen a baby eating a hamburger or hot dog in their diapers, so why do we all of a sudden EXPECT people to FORCE feed this crap into children in order to be considered good parents. (I am being sarcastic here) At what age do we quit feeding them nutritious food that their bodys can use and start feeding them crap....???????? did they tell you what age this is required to be done so that more people dont lose their kids??? I would like to get pregnant soon, and dont want some jack ass banging on my door telling me I am not feeding my child enough junk food. ***** What the hell in going on in america ****** My only guess is....they want us all sick so we can keep all these doctors yacht payments up! )(#*$*() & %)($*%$)_#*($()%^_ Well.....I'm pissed off now...I need to go to the gym and pound something.... If anyone wants to call CPS or PETA, my cat is eating a piece of cantalope right now! veganshirley <veganshirley wrote: I read what you said about CPS and I AGREE with you whole heartly. Guest guest
I love it! My dog likes coconut butter and oranges, and both of my cats like coconut butter too! I wish I could afford to feed them 100% raw diet. I intend to someday........ I..........my cat is eating a piece of cantalope right now! -- Internal Virus Database is out-of-date. Guest guest
Since this thread started, and another one similiar to it on a different group that I am a part of I have started wondering if I should be quiet about my diet changes, maybe I should HIDE my vibrant health so the authorities don't notice me!! (part sarcasim, part truth there.) Really, the older I get and the more of this insane world I see, I really start to wonder how we have managed to keep from wiping ourselves off the earth. I have seen this quote frequently and it rings true. " The bible calls debt a curse and children a blessing. In our culture we apply for a curse, and avoid blessings. " Now, for the cat eating cantalope and some one calling PETA..... That was too funny. Guest guest
Ouch! That saying is so true! I see it first hand in the people around me EVERY DAY! I try to be careful about who I tell, and sometimes I just give limited information if it comes up. It still worries me, but I'm not going to stop giving my children healthy foods! Guest guest
On feeding your animals raw you will find you have fewer vet bills, so think of it as pay now or pay later!! I no longer pad the pockets of the vet and my dog's health shows her good diet. Trish Burrows sunflowers2 P.O. Guest guest
" If anyone wants to call CPS or PETA, my cat is eating a piece of cantalope right now! " ROTFL!!! I truly believe and have told my extended family members (those whom I still associate with) that, " Unless you see the kids and me out in the front yard, naked and sacrificing a goat, LAY OFF! " Good Grief..... People tend to make judgement too quickly...if something is different than what they are accustom to, one tends to remain ignorant about it and judge, rather than educate themselves and make their own personal, educated choice. Re: CPS...... There is abuse and there is discipline.... A spanking on the butt, without anger is, in my opinion " discipline " . I have raised seven children of my own..(not including the others I've raised during times in their lives) and I did spank. Honestly, you don't really have to spank but maybe a few times when they are youngsters if you just follow through quietly and without anger with each consequence. That's a whole huge topic but one that needs to be addressed more specifically so people don't FREAK OUT when they see a mother or father spank their child in public when necessary. (I just had to quietly say to my child(ren) " Shall we have a talk in the ladies room? " and that's all it took. (smile) Nutrition is the same... A parent who loves their child will teach their child (children learn by watching/emulating parents) how to care well for their bodies AND soul. Why would you say that you love your child and then teach them to abuse their own bodies? Ugh..... This is a huge and very important topic. I'm done giving my opinion... LOL!!!! I LOVE my kids and teaching and training them...watching them blossom into young adults has been my JOY, so I'm passionate when it comes to raising children. ) Their " friends " will make comments to them (ie; " that's sick! " ) about some of the things they'll do such as walk by and break off a piece of asparagus growing out of the ground and eating it while playing ball in the yard... I'm proud that my children care about what they put into their bodies. ) Ok... I'm done.. (smile)
Guest guest
I agree 100% and the part about your cat had me laughing for the last five minutes. I have some good news. I started working at a raw food restaurant tonight and I love it! I had to really fight for the job. Lucky for me they only had one waiter and one busboy show up for work and the waiter was able to convince the chef to let me start right away! I instantly felt so supported being surrounded by like-minded people! No one there thought eating raw was strange or the least bit extreme - it was awesome. I get to go back tomorrow. I wore heels to the interview, never guessing I'd be working in them. I had put them on in the car, because my loafers were too hot. They were in the car, because I was going to take them to be repaired. One of the heels is worn down unevenly so I slip in them all the time. So there I was speedwalking on wood floors in these damn things with food and beverages in hand no less for five hours! I didn't fall once. Isn't it amazing what we can do when we put our minds to it?! Ha! I got to have a delicious raw meal on top of it all. If you would have told me I'd ever love waiting tables, I would have used it as evidence at your commitment hearing. I always hated waiting tables (haven't done it since my acting days), but this is so fun, because you get to hear about everyone's raw journey! There's great energy there and I felt more like I was having a party than waiting tables. The customers were so incredibly nice and even friendly to each other, making friends and sitting at each others' tables. It was just too cool. I'm sure I won't feel like this everyday, but what an excellent first day! ~Sheri
