Guest guest
I was just thinking that instead of going out and spending mega bucks to buy a juicer why not use a blender and some cheese cloth? Has any heard of this method much less tried to do this?
Guest guest
you can do this but you will not be able to extract as much juice since a blender is made for blending not juicing
Guest guest
I got my Champion on eBay for something like $90, including shipping. I can't remember the last time I used it so it really isn't something that's necessary for eating raw. Guest guest
Blending allows us to have the fiber.. Which I feel is important. My blender has died.. I need a new one.. I can not afford the 300.00 for a fancy juicer. My juicer is a cheap cintrifugal (sp?) kind... Debbie M

Guest guest
Is there a model number that shouldn't be considered if you are buying an older model like from ebay?? I see them there but wonder if they truely work well or if that particular model will do what I am looking for... suggestions?? Judy Cozza <judycozza wrote: I use my Champion almost everyday. You are right Tommie - you don't need one to be raw - but it certainly helps you with variety and I need the variety. Judy
Guest guest
Hi, Judy! Do you use the pulp in recipes? I don't juice because I eat foods whole except for the ones that need peeling. Guest guest
The basic design is the same as it's ever been from what I can tell. Just make sure it is in good working condition. They work well for juicing, masticating, and making frozen banana ice cream. Guest guest
I'm so glad that you use it, Judy! You're right--if it's separated, you might miss something you need. It wouldn't work for me to make flax crackers with the pulp because the crackers don't get eaten. They don't do me any good on the outside. Of course, I've never tried rubbing them on my body. I'm curious, though. If you mix it back together, why don't you just blend it to begin with? My blender is easier to clean than the Champion. Guest guest
No, I don't want to sell it. It's like a torque wrench. You might not need it often but it's nice to have if you do. Guest guest
Some of the older models don't have the safety feature where it won't start unless it is assembled. Mine is an older model, and it will start if it only has the blade on it! I just leave it unplugged until it is fully assembled and then unplug it when I'm done before taking it apart. I'm in the habit of doing that now so it's no big deal anymore, but it's something to think about before buying one. Guest guest
have you tried www.freecycle.com? there seems to be groups everywhere and you just sign up with the ones in your area. you can post things you want to get rid of...and you can post things that you need/want. I've seen people give away juicers, dehydrators and such on the freecycle groups that I belong to. rawfood , " Gypsi at www.aromaticwings.com " <aromatic_wings wrote: > > Blending allows us to have the fiber.. Guest guest
Freecycle is a great place. I have been free cycleing for about 2 years now and have given away some needed things, and gotten some needed things.....Its great! I recomend it to anyone who has a few things to get rid of but dont want to just toss in the trash. The main reason freecycle was started was to keep things out of the land fills...and you would be amazed at the invetiveness of some people to use your old things to make new things.... Give it a try!
