Guest guest
What is the simplest way to rinse the wax coating off of fruits and veggies?? I cant get organic near my home and have to buy the " other kind " ...LOL.. I know recently there was a rinse/wash listed here, but I cant find it again to save my life, and the cucumber I bought feels like a candle...UGggggggghhhh! Guest guest
It's recommended to always peel conventional cucumbers because the wax is so thick. I use a drop of Dr. Bronner's liquid soap on a brush to wash my other vegetables. Hope that helps! Guest guest
I use to spray bottles in the kitchen for cleaning veggie and surfaces. One spray bottle is vinegar, the other is peroxide. I spray the counter or veggie with one, then the other. It doesn't matter which one is first, then rise the veggie in water. Or wipe off the counter. I got this " recipe " from www.mercola.com An alternate recipe I read about said to dilute food grade hydrogen peroxide to 3% in a tub or sink and soak the food item. To me it is just as easy to spray and rinse as it is to fill up a sink. Leah Bad Dobby <dobeythehouseelf wrote: What is the simplest way to rinse the wax coating off of fruits and veggies?? There was a discussion a while back, and I made a file and put it in the RECIPES section of the LIST FILES, under Vegetable Wash. There are quite a few choices listed.
