Guest guest
Hi All, I came across this short blurb on MySpace. Posted by Josh: http://tinyurl.com/nqsl4 Yesterday, I was eating a durian (the most delicious fruit in the world, but very smelly) in my dorm at college. so I was nearly finished and I heard banging on my door, and before I could answer two security guards and three firemen barged into my room and rushed me out of my room, at the same time the fire alarm went off. a minute later they came out and asked me what I was eating...long story short some one smelled the durian and thought it was a gas leak.... hahahah _________ I bet those firemen were glad it was just a fruit smell and not a gas leak. I'm sure they all learned something new about tropical fruit. LOL. Wonder if they'll try it?
Guest guest
Thanks for sharing! I've been wanting to try Durian, but can't seem to find it without being frozen first. QUESTION: Is the smell so bad that one would have to force him/herself to eat it at first, like while plugging the nose? If it's so noxious, isn't that nature's way of telling us to stay away? Thanks, Tiffany Lohr Daniel Duke <danielrduke wrote: Hi All, I came across this short blurb on MySpace. Guest guest
That's hillarious! I plan to try one soon for the first time since they are in season now. A couple of my friends want to try one too, so we're going to have a 'durian party'. LOL! Cindy -- " Daniel Duke " <danielrduke wrote: Hi All, I came across this short blurb on MySpace. Guest guest
The smell is different. I don't find it bad, or disagreeable. Even when I was first introduced to it. Most durians are frozen when they are shipped here, but there is a site that sells them and ships them fresh. http://puretropicalfoods.com/catalog/index.php I think Durian taste best chilled and I usually blend young coconut water and the meat in with it making a nice yummy pudding. Durian grows on ya! I love it!
