Guest guest
Oh my goodness. What an experience. I thought " green " coconuts were like a regular brown fuzzy one only with the outer husk still on. What a surprise I got today when I took my hatchet to this thing.....got the water out, tasted it and said what the hell is this?? Kept cutting into the greenie until I cut it in half- tasted the inside and again...what the hell??? This doesn't taste like coconut or smell like coconut or LOOK like coconut. What did I buy, I wondered. So I looked it up online- dang.....I didn't realize this was an UNRIPE coconut!!!!! So, this sucker is going into my compost pile. Glad I only paid $1.99 for it!!! Guest guest
DON'T THROW IT AWAY!!! That's what all the rest of us who don't live close to a Whole Foods would love to have! It's also a young coconut or a baby coconut. They are so good for you and they are delicious, too. You can use the soft meat in smoothies or cut it in thin strips and eat it like " pasta " . Wish I had the same " problem " you do! Tommie http://www.rawburchard.blogspot.com rawfood , " Donna Masi " <TribalFantasyDesigns > wrote: > > Oh my goodness. What an experience. Guest guest
I went to my local organic co-op today and bought my first Thai coconut! I can't wait to try it. Everyone here has inspired me. By the way, it was $2.29. Susan
