Guest guest
I came across this list after searching for more lists on raw feeding for dogs (they've been eating a correct diet since January, now I am interested in getting my diet straight!!). I have heard of raw food for humans before, always while searching for dog stuff so I never really payed attention to it. I do have some questions, please bare with me and don't laugh! =) Do you cook any of your food? Is it all raw? I am not sure I could do this, I am going to culinary school! I am a very picky eater, but hey, I'll try it so long as it really is better for me. Do you eat raw meat? This doesn't really apply to me because I am vegetarian but I was just wondering Can you point me to some links where I can learn what to eat more of and what to eat less of and what to cut out of my diet? And where I can learn the benefits of this? I still live with my parents. They are both overweight and complaining but like to eat potato chips and oreos while sitting on their butt all day =( My mom does have some health problems from being obese and she no longer can exercise like a normal person. I want to get my family in good health. My mom and I are totally up for a diet change but the men (dad and brother) complain if we try to make a healthier dinner. Thanks =) Sarah
Guest guest
Good morning again. I've been eating 100% raw for 11 months tomorrow. Some of the people on this forum eat raw fish but I think that's it for flesh food. I'm a lifelong vegetarian myself. Some of the people on here are 100%, some are varying percentages otherwise. Roger Haeske has a wonderful forum where you can learn a tremendous amount about eating raw food. It's at http://www.howtogoraw.com. I would have been lost without it. If you want, you can check out my blog (the link is below). Judy has one that has LOTS of recipes at http://www. mawintheraw.blogspot.com. Mine is more method oriented with " true confessions " though there are recipes sprinkled here and there. Good luck! I have to go exercise if I'm going to get it all in before I have to quit to get ready for work! Guest guest
Hello Sarah: One of the first places I would point you to is the list files rawfood The website for this list is rather a one-stop-shop! I started going through them in the beginning of the year, and now they contain a lot of information that has been posted over the 8 years of the existence of this list. There are even recipes from list members, as well as from famous restaurants, and raw food books. The databases contain lists of books about and equipment for preparing raw food, as well as other miscellaneous information. The files contain discussions on various issues, list member comments on equipment, recipes, and numerous links to interesting raw food sites. I can't think of a better jumping off spot right now. This list has so much to offer in the way of camaraderie (the list members are fantastic -- very caring, sharing, and tolerant--, the information you can get simply through the list postings is without equal anywhere on the Web, and the list files and databases contain so much archived information that one could live a very full, satisfying raw food life without ever leaving our warm embrace. There is no other list like it (I *have* checked -- I did my research before I joined and decided to spend my free moments helping to build the list website-- yes, I am proud of my work, but, much more than that, I am eternally grateful to all of the fine people who have posted over the years, giving the benefit of their knowledge, their concerns, their issues, and more. Working this list has been one of the greatest moments in my ongoing education as a nutritionist-- too bad I can't get continuing education credits from it!!!) We are so lucky that Orionsdad created this list when he did. Be lazy. Check it out.
