Guest guest Posted May 29, 2002 Report Share Posted May 29, 2002 * Exported from MasterCook * Easiest Gravy Recipe By : Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Condiments Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 3 tablespoons olive oil 3 tablespoons whole wheat flour 2 tablespoons powdered vegetable broth or 2 vegetable bouillon cubes 3 cups potato water -- (from boiling potatoes) or plain water Heat oil in a large skillet. (A skillet is preferable to a saucepan because gravy distributed over a larger heated area thickens faster.) Whisk in flour and powdered vegetable broth. (If using bouillon cubes, add liquid first and then add cubes.) Add potato water or plain water slowly, stirring with a whisk over medium-high heat, until gravy thickens to a desired consistency. Yield: 3 cups.
