Guest guest Posted June 10, 2002 Report Share Posted June 10, 2002 * Exported from MasterCook * Chunky Apple Spice Muffins Recipe By : The McDougall Program, John and Mary McDougall, page 223 Serving Size : 12 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Breads, Quick Fruits Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 cup whole wheat flour 1 cup oat bran (or another cup of whole wheat flour) 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon allspice 2 teaspoons cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves 1/4 teaspoon powdered ginger 1 teaspoon arrowroot 1/4 cup honey 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce 2 tart peeled apples -- cut in small dice 1/2 cup water 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract MAKES 12 MUFFINS. PREPARATION TIME: 20 MINUTES. COOKING TIME: 25 MINUTES Serve with Corn Butter (see separate recipe). Preheat the oven to 400ø. Mix the dry ingredients and wet ingredients separately. Combine them and mix thoroughly.
