Chop two to four cloves of garlic, depending on your taste. 2. Slice one small-medium sized onion (white or yellow). 3. Clean and slice about a half a pound of mushrooms (any kind will work- or use a mixture of different types). 4. Wash and cut the broccoli into florets- leaving a good portion of the stem. 5. Heat about 2 teaspoons of oil in a non-stick skillet or wok. 6. Add the onion and garlic, stir fry for 1 or 2 minutes. Do not let the onions brown, and translucency is not necessary at this point. 7. Add the mushrooms, and continue to cook until they begin releasing some of their water. 8. Add the broccoli, and vegetarian oyster sauce. Cover, and steam the broccoli with the natural water from the mushrooms. You can also add a tiny bit of water if needed. Serve with rice or noodles. you can also add tofu near the end for a heartier meal.
