another repost. another correction. it's monday, what can i tell ya!

 

since i had to add directions to this recipes -- I checked more books and have

revised the baking times to the average -- please replace previously posted

recipe with this one ;-)

Barbecue Style Baked Tofu cx

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1 pound firm fresh tofu

MARINADE:

1/4 cup catsup

1/4 cup apple juice concentrate

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 pinch cayenne pepper -- or to taste

 

You should begin with very firm tofu; drained and pressed. Tofu should spring

back when lightly pressed). Cut into 6 1/4-inch thick slices.

 

Combine ingredients for marinade. Soak the tofu covered for at least 2 hrs.

 

1/4-INCH SLICES: BAKE at 400F for about 20 minutes or more until dried (like

meatloaf).

VARIATION: FULL THICKNESS BLOCK: Bake covered at 350F for 30 minutes; uncover;

Bake and additional 20 minutes or until browned.
