Guest guest
While I realize that this is not the proper forum, but I bought a lot of grain type stuff and seem to have brought in a bunch of those little brown flying bugs which seem to think my pantry is their new home. I remember someone somewhere had a wonderful idea on something very natural that could be used to get rid of them. Any help would be appreciated as I just tossed everything that I bought. So much for that bargain. Thanks for reading. ______________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Join Juno today! Get the bay from a shoppers club like sam's to save $$. after the fact -- sift and winnow; repack. clean everything in the pantry etc .... with a cleaner that contains the smell of bleach. which may please the bugs more than me but the smell is psychologically soothing. Storing in airy dry cool place. With rice and wheat berries etc instead of rinsing them, put them in a bowl to soak and the bug debris floats. I'd be interested in learning tricks of storage too ;-) This is one of the thing irradiation was going to help with -- but people objected because the long term effects weren't know -- still aren't. pat

I've also heard that freezing grain products for several days when you bring them home is helpful.
