Guest guest Posted September 19, 2002 Report Share Posted September 19, 2002 no tahini in this one! * Exported from MasterCook * Hummus Sauce Recipe By :Readers Digest Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Condiments Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 4 garlic clove -- peeled 19 ounces no salt added garbanzo beans -- rinsed 1/3 cup plain nonfat yogurt 2 tablespoons nonfat sour cream 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice 1 tablespoon sesame oil 1/2 teaspoon salt substitute -- or as needed 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1/8 teaspoon allspice 1/4 cup chopped parsley or cilantro (optional) -- for garnish 1 teaspoon paprika (optional) -- for garnish 1. In a small pot of boiling water, cook the garlic for 2 minutes to blanch. Drain and transfer to a food processor. 2. Add the chickpeas, yogurt, sour cream lemon juice, sesame oil and seasonings (exclude garnish). Puree, adding juice or water if needed. Transfer to serving bowl and sprinkle with parsley and paprika.
