how long does miso last?

Hi! Sorry for the non-recipe post, but I imagine a lot of

folks here use miso a lot, so might have an answer to my

question - how long does miso last in the fridge?

 

I usually buy a small tub of the stuff, and don't use it

*that* much, and was curious how long I can use it for

safely. Any ideas? Weeks, months? Now that we're

getting into soup-making season, I'll be using more

of it now, but odds are low I'd use up a whole container

of it within 6 months - is it reasonable to expect it

to last that long?
