Guest guest
The great thing about tofu is that it is so bland that it takes on the flavor of whatever you put it in! If you don't like soy sauce, try other sauces you do like. You might try an Italian dressing or a hot and spicy sauce. I think it also makes a difference on how you first prepare the tofu...I will many times press the tofu to drain as much liquid as I can, so it absorbs more of the flavor. To press, unwrap the tofu, put on a plate and put another plate on top weighted with a 1 lb. can. This presses out excess water. (Don't do this with Mori-Nu Silken tofu.) Hope everyone had a great Tofurky Day!! One of my favorite comfort foods is making " chicken soup " . I use the boxed Manischevitz boxed mix (yes, I know it has MSG, but I can't find any brands that don't) for the soup and matzo balls. I add lots of sliced carrot, celery and mushroom slices while it cooks, then towards the end I cube a package of tofu. Yum!!!!
