Pico de Gallo

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

4 vine-ripened tomatoes -- seeded and chopped

- (4 to 6)

2 jalapeno chiles -- seeded and chopped (2 to 3)

2 serrano chiles -- seeded and chopped

1 large yellow onion -- chopped

4 green onions -- finely chopped

2 tablespoons fresh cilantro -- chopped

juice of 2 limes

salt to taste

 

Gently combine the tomato, pepper, chiles, onions, and cilantro. Add the lime

juice and the salt, mix well, and refrigerate, stirring occasionally.

Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

 

Makes 2 cups, enough for 4 to 6 servings
