Guest guest Posted January 2, 2003 Report Share Posted January 2, 2003 * Exported from MasterCook * Asparagus with Lemon Butter Recipe By :Transalta Utilities Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : send vegetables Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds 1 pound asparagus spears--trimmed 1/4 cup butter 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 teaspoon fresh grated lemon rind Spread sesame seeds on cookie sheet and bake at 300° for 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Set aside. In an electric frypan, bring 1 inch water to a boil. Add asparagus and cover. Reduce heat and cook 5 to 6 minutes, or until spears are tender crisp. Drain. In a small saucepan, melt butter. Stir in lemon juice and lemon rind. Pour over asparagus, arranged attractively on a serving platter, and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
