Chili Salt

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1/2 cup sea salt

1/4 cup pure chili powder

1 teaspoon cayenne

1/8 teaspoon dried oregano -- crumbled

 

Mix together all the ingredients. Use right away or store in an airtight jar for

up to several weeks.

NOTES : NOTES : Seasoned salts are a special love of anyone who likes to cook.

The alchemist/artist in you comes to the fore when you blend your own salt and

spice mixture to have in a cellar for a table seasoning of to stir into a cooked

dish, made in very small amounts, the mixture stays aromatic and you can use it

up before the fragrance dies. For taste, it's important to have a good-quality

salt, neither too coarse nor too fine, nor cut with additives for free flow, as

many commercial packaged salts are.
