Well, here is my first contribution. It is a very nice and easy recipe from a useful book called " The ayurvedic cookbook " Enjoy! Talila * Exported from MasterCook * Tasty Chickpeas Recipe By :Amadea Morningstar and Urmila Desai Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 1/2 cups dry chickpeas (garbanzos) -- soaked overnight and drained 2 1/2 cups water 2 tablespoons sunflower oil 1/2 teaspoon mustard seed 1 ripe tomato -- diced 1 teaspoon curry powder, mild 2 tablespoons sesame seeds 1 teaspoon sea salt 1 teaspoon coreander powder 1/2 teaspoon turmeric Bring chickpeas and water to boil then cook on medium heat for 50 minutes or until soft. Heat oil in heavy skillet, adding mustard seeds when oil is warm. When seeds pop, add diced tomato and curry powder. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add sesame seeds, chickpeas, salt, coreander, turmeric and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes more.
