Guest guest
I was surfing around the tv this morning and Martha Stewart was on. Usually I turn it off, but today she was cooking with tofu so I thought I would watch. She made " french Fries " with tofu. So, I thought I would pass on the recipe, which I found at her website. Here it is: @@@@@ Soy Sticks | Martha Stewart Living, 4/22/03 | 1 pound extra-firm tofu Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper Ketchup, for serving mustard, or mayonnaise, for serving | 1. Preheat the broiler. Line baking sheet with a Silpat (French nonstick baking mat); set aside. 2. Cut the tofu horizontally into four 1/2-inch-thick slabs. Lay tofu flat on a clean kitchen towel. Fold towel over tofu, and press gently to remove excess moisture. Cut each piece lengthwise into six 1/2-inch-wide strips. Place on prepared baking sheet. Season with salt and pepper. 3. Place under broiler and cook, turning every 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown and crisp, about 10 minutes. Serve hot, with desired condiments. Serves 4 http://www.marthastewart.com | _____ My 7 year old wouldn't eat these but they did look remarkably like french fries. ===== RisaG Risa's Food Service http://www.geocities.com/radiorlg Updated 4/18/03 The New Search - Faster.
