Team-Up Poached Fresh Nectarines

4 ripe fresh California nectarines or

peaches

6 strips lime peel (2-inch long)

2 tablespoons lime juice

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup water

2 cinnamon sticks (each about 3 " long)

--SAUCE--

2 cups nonfat vanilla yogurt

1 tablespoon honey

1/4 teaspoon grated lime peel

 

Slice nectarines. Combine lime peel and juice, honey, water and cin-

namon sticks in microwave-safe bak-ing dish. Microwave on high for 5

minutes, or until boiling, stirring once. Add nectarines to dish, cover

with white paper towel and microwave on High for 6 to 8 min-

utes or until tender, basting with juices often. Chill fruit in liquid. For

sauce, combine ingredients to chill.

 

To serve, divide nectarines and liquid into dessert dishes. Dollop with

yogurt sauce.
