Quick Sicilian Style Pasta Sauce

1 jar plain spaghetti sauce -- (26 ounce)

1/4 cup golden raisins

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley -- preferably Italian flat-leaf

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

1 - pinch sugar

2 tablespoons pine nuts

1 In a large saucepan, heat spaghetti sauce over medium heat. Stir in

raisins, parsley, balsamic vinegar and sugar. Simmer gently until raisins

are plumped, about 5 minutes.

2 Meanwhile, in a small dry skillet, toast pine nuts over medium heat,

stirring to prevent scorching. When they are browned and fragrant, add to

the sauce.
