These two recipes go together. Looked so good, I just had to do em up. There

is a picture of them at the site, too. :)

Raita (Cucumber Yogurt Sauce) with Curried Tortilla Straws

2 3/4 cups cucumber -- peeled, seeded and diced

- 14 oz.

3/4 cup sour cream

- 8 oz.

1/2 cup plain yogurt

- 4 1/2 oz.

1/2 cup red onion -- chopped fine

1/4 cup cilantro -- chopped

- 1/2 oz.

2 tablespoons mint -- minced

2 tablespoons ground cumin

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Curried Tortilla Straws

 

Combine all ingredients together in a bowl, mix well. Serves 10.

Curried Tortilla Straws

1 dozen Mission® 8 " Mazina Tortilla -- (see notes)

1 tablespoon ground coriander

1 tablespoon curry powder

2 teaspoons salt

2 oz. butter -- melted

 

Cut tortillas into 0.5” wide strips.

 

Combine the coriander, curry and salt in a small bowl.

 

Dip tortilla strips in the melted butter then lightly sprinkle with the

seasoning mixture.

 

Twist the strips into a helix and arrange on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees

for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with raita.
