Guest guest Posted September 17, 2003 Report Share Posted September 17, 2003 Here is a lovely recipe for this wonderful fruit. * Exported from MasterCook * Piquant Quince Recipe By :Rachel Aharonovitz, Haya Metrasso and Dina Rosenbaum Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 4 large quince -- peeled, quarteredand cored 1/4 cup brandy 4 whole cloves 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 2 tablespoons sugar 1 cup water 1 bay leaf Preheat the oven to 400 F Arrange quince quarters in a baking pan. Mix the rest of the ingredients and pour over quince. Bake, covered, for 25 minutes or until quince is soft and the sauce is absorbed in the fruit. Serve hot as part of a meal, or cilled, with vanilla ice-cream.
