Guest guest Posted October 26, 2003 Report Share Posted October 26, 2003 * Exported from MasterCook * Butter Lentils Recipe By :Manju Malhi Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Vegetables {Posted} Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 oz butter 1 onion -- peeled and chopped 2 cloves garlic -- peeled and crushed 1 pinch garam masala 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon turmeric 1/4 teaspoon chili powder 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander 14 ounces canned green lentils (2 cups) -- drained and washed 5 oz water 1 tablespoon double cream -- (heavy cream) Serves 2 - 4 Preparation Time: 5 minutes, Cooking Time: 12 minutes Heat the butter in a saucepan, put in the onions and garlic and fry for 6 minutes until the onions have browned. Add the garam masala, salt, turmeric, chilli powder, cumin and coriander and fry for a minute. Tip in the lentils, then add 5 oz water and cook for 5 minutes.
