Guest guest
Hello: I am trying to spend money again. I have my Champion, my Excalibur, my food processor, and my Vitamix. What more could I want? I am think vegetable spiralizer aka Saladacco. Does anyone here use one? Or another similar thing? I saw a couple of different ones on ebay for exorbitant prices. Makes Saladacco look like the clear choice, but I would like to hear from anyone who actually uses such a contraption. I also saw one called Benriner. Any input? (My room-mate will be going to Japan for a month this summer, and she could look and see if it is cheaper there, if I can find out if there is a machine that works and people like it, and if I can find out if it is easy enough that I will use it more than the first time. Thanks Margaret
Guest guest
I have one, but i don't use it very often. I think mostly that's because i'm not enough of a fan of raw squash to make it very often. I suppose it would be good for beets or other root vegetables, but I have a salad shooter and it's much faster than cranking the other machine by hand Bridgitte rawfood , " Margaret Gamez " <mgamez1 wrote: > > Hello: > I am trying to spend money again. Guest guest
I have a Benriner Cook Help that I love. I did some sleuthing online before I bought anything and the reviews of the Saladacco weren't too good vs good ones for the Benriner. Since I've never used a Saladacco I can't really compare them. The only tricky thing about the Benriner is learning to use the right amount of pressure. It makes beautiful shredded carrots, and does a wonderful job on turnips and zucchini for " pasta " . I've spiral sliced cucumber, too, and it's neat. Tommie http://www.rawburchard.blogspot.com rawfood , " Margaret Gamez " <mgamez1 wrote: > > Hello: > I am trying to spend money again. Guest guest
I've always wondered about the Benriner Cook Help. Let me check with another gal on another list. I think she has both. I sell the saladacco and have only used it and really enjoy it. One summer we remodeled the kitchen and I used it very often in the back yard. Zucchini works great for pesto pasta. Let me check with Carol and get back to you with a comparison. Shari
Guest guest
This is the one I have: http://www.kitchenemporium.com/cgi-bin/kitchen/prod/49wo200105.html It's easy to use and has 3 different blades...I just prefer my salad shooter because a)it's electric, and b)you don't have to cut stuff down to a managable size. Guest guest
I like the cook's helper too. I had the saladacco, but got rid of it.
