Guest guest
LOL! Someone gave me their used dehydrator and I want to try it out, however I have almost no fresh fruit, can anyone give me a delicious easy starter recipe...perhaps a cracker or something? Also can you eat sweet potatoes raw at all? Thanks, Tiff B
Guest guest
cneck out the recipes in the recipes files at the list website: rawfood/files People have posted their cracker recipes. You will surely find something. My personal favorite cracker recipe is 2 C ground flax seed 2 C sunflower seeds (soaked for 10 hours) 1 onion food processed into oblivion herbs and spices as you choose Water, or tomato juice as needed. Either run the sunflower seeds through a Champion juicer with the blank plate, or food process into a thick paste with some water. Combine all ingredients in a large container, and mix well. Add water, tomato juice, or other liquid of your choice as needed, to make a loose dough. Set out a bowl of plain water. Wet your hands, and spread cracker dough on teflex sheets (I put the teflex sheets on the dehydrator trays before I begin spreading - it makes it easier for me.) Keep wetting your hands, to be able to spread the cracker dough 1/4 inch thick out to the edges of the teflex sheets. (when I get close to the edge, I even up the edges, then spread some more.) Dehydrate at 145 degrees for 2-4 hours, then remove the trays, and score the crackers Turn the crackers over remove the teflex sheets, rotate the trays 180 degrees and return to the dehydrator. Lower the dehydrator heat to 105 degrees and continue dehydrating for 6 hours or until crackers are dehydrated to your taste.
