Sorry, but these ingredients don't look so non-toxic to me. Talc, listed

below in some of the " recipes " is a carcinogen.

I have only worn mascara but when I do it seems that my eyes get

irritated alot. so I wanted to find a formula I could make myself. I

asked a friend of mine and here are a few recipes she gave me.

___________

Here ya go!

Its a very easy recipe to make! And fun because your incontrol of

what goes in it. :0)

--------------------------

FYI! ALL eye cosmetics such as mascaras and liners should be tossed

out after 30 days wheather you buy it or make your own Mascara.

This will be enough for about two tubes, I finally have it the way I

like it.

1Teasp. Sorbitan Monostearate

1 teasp unrefined shea butter

1teasp olive oil

1 teasp. beeswax

1 teasp candelilla wax

put in microwave to melt, watch it close tho so it does not get too

hot and

boil over.

Add

3 teasp hot distilled water

1 teasp glycerin

1 teasp. gum arabic

1/8 teasp provitamin B

4 drops Germaben ll

I then used jojoba by the drop to get it to the consistancy I liked

to go on with my brush... this takes experimenting.

Added about a teasp of pigment of your choice. I used brown and

black...thus brown/black mascara.

Dee

---------------------------

Then here are a few more.....

--------------------------

MASCARA!

part a.

1 tbls. distilled water

1 tsp. peg-7 glyceryl cocoate

10 drops glycerin

part b.

1-1/2 tsp. cornstarch

1/2 tsp. talc

1/2 tsp. black oxide or brown oxide

or any other color you want to make.

or go wild with some ultra marine blue oxide!

part c.

1 tsp. white beesax

1/2 tsp. carnuba wax

1/4 tsp. gum arabic

1/4 tsp. golden jojoba

part d.

5 drops provitamin B5

2 drops preservative

combine part a and heat in a glass jar then shake well.

add part b to part a. stir well while heating to 170 degree in a hot

water bath.

during this time combine part c. to melt slowly in another glass

container until its homogenous.

now add part c. to parts a & b. and stir untill its homogenized.

finally add part d and stir well.

fill mascare tubes, do not cap until, fully cool, put in a stand up

container so they do not tip over.

makes 2 mascaras.

I LOVE THIS MASCARA AND ONLY USE IT NOW DAYS! AND GUESS WHAT, NO EYE

ALLERGIES EITHER!

--------------------

we carry everythng listed to make these with.

you may also add some pearl mics for a shimmery mascara, stay away

for micas with sparkle, but pearls look beautiful, yes even on ageing

skin types, they perk up the eyes!

just sub alittle mica in place of part of the oxide. just a pinch,.

some blue mica with black gives you a very sexy blue black color.

some copper with brown is another sexy look. use some silver or grey

with the black for a charcoal shade.

these are only limited by your imagination!

http://sweettreats.8k.com/contact.html

AGAIN-THESE ARE NOT MY FORMULAS, BUT WERE SENT TO MY GROUP TO USE.

---------

Liquid Eye Liner!

part A.

4 tsp. distilled water

1/2 tsp. peg-7 glyceryl cocoate

10 drops glycerin or sorbitol

part B.

1/8 tsp. talc,

1/4 tsp. brown or black oxide or go wild with green or blue.

1/4 tsp. black oxide

this is a espresso color.

so for other single color oxides use 1/2 tsp.

or for a mica look forget the oxides and use this

1/8 tsp. talc

2-1/2 tsp. gold mica or any other non glitter color

part C.

pinch of xanthum gum

part D.

1/4 tsp. sorbitan stearate

1/16 tsp. polysorbate 60

1/16 tsp. cetyl alcohol

part E.

4 drops preservative

combine part A in a glass container and stir well.

add part B. to part A. stir well. then add part C. and heat to 150

degrees in a double boiler.melt slowly untill its all melted well but

do not overheat or go over the 150 degrees.

now add part D. to the mixture and stir untill is homogenous.

now add part E. and stir well.

fill eyeliner containers, thats it! makes 3/4oz of mixture.

I LOVE THIS LINER-ITS REALLY THE BEST!

----------------------

These recipes can not be altered, we tried, the end results were

terrible.

So please stay with in the realms for the best end results.

Best preservatives for eye cosmetics is indispute, so type in

cosmetic grade preservatives and make your own desions about this

matter.

Im allergic to parabens so i choice not to use them, as most people

with eye allergies are. its not the ingreadiants but rather the

preservatives making our eyes water and hurt.

The same applys to scents, its not the scents, but rather the

chemical additives to cut them with.

So be an informed consumor, And make your own choices instead of

someone else doing it for you!

Thats the glory of making your own cosmetics, your in 100% control at

all times reguarding what you do or dont use in them.

Your safety is your own hands, And frankly where it should be, And

not at some cosmetic company telling us whats best for us!

We know our bodies better then anyone else does.

This is our advantage over them...

Be safe not sorry.

I did toy with the thought of dying eyelashes with indigo, but decided

it probably wasn't safe to use that close to the eyes.

Thanks very much. I wish I could use this mascara product, but I'm allergic

to soy and it contains lecithin. Many natural cosmetics and shampoos contain

soy in one form or another, and that's a problem for me. (I'm allergic to

soy, wheat, carrots and dairy.)

Hi, Judy

Shoot. All of the products are wheat-free, but i didn't realize people are

allergic to lecithin, as well.

:(

There's got to be one out there for you somewhere!

Here's a radical thought--why not leave off all the " gilding of the

lily " and go au naturel? Get out in the sun so your skin will have a

(real) healthy glow. Before you go to bed, smooth on some cold pressed

coconut oil. Be brave! Let your naked skin hang out!

It's just that lecithin is soy and soy is a common allergen.

I've been using the coconut oil now for about a year. It is inexpensive

compared to cosmetics and works beautifully. I put some in a smaller glass jar

and add vitamin E.

While I was playing in the files, I noticed that Raine has made files

in the Natural Health and Body Care folder on the list's website.

Thanks Raine!

Go there. See that.

Hiya Margaret.

That was someone else who posted these gems (named aromatic_wings)-

unless there's another Raine.
