Guest guest
Hello all... While I was back home, I ran into a co-director of an art gallery. She is in the prepublicity stages of promoting Neil Young's artist, James Mazzeo. They are in the middle of an amazing project called The United States Series. You can check it out at the website www.thepeoplesartgallery.com Anyways, James Mazzeo did a painting called " VEGANIST " , located in the Idaho book (just click on IDAHO and you will see it). The prints are available in editions of 36, all signed titled and numbered by James Mazzeo. Each print even has its own registry number! I just bought one, and it is amazing! Don't know how many are left. I thought people in this group might be interested in checking it out! Let me know what you think of the site and project because I am considering purchasing one of the books, which are one-of-a-kind. Raw to all! Guest guest
If you can afford it, go for it. I've learned that I kick myself later if I don't " strike while the iron is hot " ! The people in " The Veganist " look a little sad to me. Is that my imagination or would you call it _interpretation_? Guest guest
It's the point of view, I guess. Some of Roger's forum members (including yours truly) have pictures posted and it has struck me how healthy and happy we all look. Everyone on there is either 100% raw or close. Some vegans do look Sad and Sickly, though. You can be a vegan and still eat junky food. You can be a _raw_ vegan and eat junky food. Guest guest
I totally agree, Tommie! I was recently told that I look very healthy, so I was quite happy about that! I hate the automatic assumption of many people that without eating meat a person becomes palid and sickly. But, honestly, the art work made me think of that... maybe it was the seemingly sad expressions and hospital-green color. We all need to work on that image! Guest guest
People will stop me and want to talk about my weight-loss. They say, " Most of the time when someone loses weight, they look sick but you don't! You look healthy! " The combination of raw food and exercise is amazing. I've never eaten meat and I usually appeared healthy on the outside but it's only been since I started the raw food lifestyle that I have truly FELT healthy. Plus, 187 pounds on a 5'3 " frame isn't healthy, no way, no how. I hadn't thought about the green that way. I was thinking that maybe the artist was trying to imitate plant colors. Anyway, I think it would have been more effective to have different colors. Plus, make the vegans more cheerful.
