Guest guest
Hi there. I am new to the group and new to raw eating! I am on day 4 of eating raw (almost all raw) and feeling more energy and more stamina. But, I am having some digestive issues. I have more gas and am running to the bathroom quite a bit. Will this slow down? I actually started this way of eating to do several things for my body. One is to start feeling healthier. I turned 40 this year and I am already falling apart! I feel my age and I don't like that at all! I want to feel younger, look younger, have more energy and be able to keep up with my 4 boys! (well, 3 sons and a husband who are all in good shape!) Thanks, Dawn
Guest guest
I think everyone's transition to a raw diet is different. For me, I didn't really notice any negatives, but it sounds like your transition is not that atypical. It should pass in time, but if it is too problematic, you might try transitioning to a completely raw diet a little slower (i.e. throw in some cooked vegetables at first and then eventually wean yourself off of them. -Mike --- KenyaMK <kenyamk wrote: > Hi there. Guest guest
I wish I had found out about raw when I was 40, Dawn. I was 61 when I started eating 100% raw almost a year ago. Excessive gas wasn't a problem for me but running to the bathroom sounds familiar. If you are eating cruciferous veggies, they can cause gas. Lean more toward the tender greens and it should ease. Mixing fatty foods (nuts, seeds, and avocados) with sweet fruit can cause gas, too. As for the running to the bathroom, I still have to do that if I eat certain foods. It has slowed down now, in general. Raw foods have a lot of fiber which can cause loose stools until your body adjusts to them. After Day 4 for me, I went 100% raw. I figured what little cooked I was eating was doing almost nothing to keep me alive. For me, it was easier to do that than prolong it with cooked. Everyone is different, though, so do what works for you. Good luck! Tommie http://www.rawburchard.blogspot.com rawfood , " KenyaMK " <kenyamk wrote: > > Hi there.
