I don't live in Dallas anymore but try The Wholefood Market on Greenville Ave

south of Mockingbird Lane. There is also a Wholefood Market in Richardson on

Coit Rd just north of Spring Valley Rd. Both are terrific and have all sorts of

resources for you.

Good luck........Betsy

Sneak preview the all-new .com. It's not radically different. Just

radically better.

Marlene thankyou kindly:

I was hoping for some books or some articles on the subject of Raw food.

You know what would be nice, maybe starting a group where people who are Raw

Foodists get together and swap receipes and whatnot. Like I said, I havent

started yet. I am still looking into it. I guess you could call me " raw food

curious. " LOL Anyway, thanks. I am familiar with the Whole foods market on

Greenville avenue. They are a tad bit outside my price range. (poor college

student.) Anyway, would love to hear from you or anyone else.

Thanks

Good morning, Marshall!

If you are looking for some good resources, check out Frederic

Patenaude's site at http://snipurl.com/slji. I've had a son and

daughter in college and I know what you mean about being " poor " .

Frederic has a lot of articles on there that you can read for

nothing. If you want to invest in something, though, his _Raw

Secrets_ is great. That's the first book I read and the first one I

would recommend to anyone who is serious about getting on and staying

on raw food longterm.

If I am going to do this, I want to do it right. I want to do my research

before I " dive in. " It seems scary and awesome at the same time. I guess that's

why I want to get to know some other raw foodists. I dont want it to be a fad,

or something that I do this week and ditch it the next. I just see my health as

important, and it has suffered because of my diet in the last couple of years. I

am always on the go, and as a college student I cant afford to feel sluggish,

and tired all the time. I usually feel miserable. Perhaps, part of it is because

I work at " McDirt " as someone said. LOL yes I actually work at McDonald's. I

think for me if I embraced a raw food lifestyle, it wouldnt be about some sort

of cultural crusade. I dont think it would be something that I would use to make

myself feel superior to others, its just something I may want to do for my own

health and well being. I know that when I juice I feel awesome. I liked the

suggestion of starting out slowly and

then working your way up. This is balanced. Anything unbalanced is not healthy,

even if it has noble intentions. (Even raw foodism.) Like I said I guess at this

point you could call me " raw food curious. " I see the health benefits, but

really need to do my own research and see if its really for me. I don't know

yet. I also think its interesting how alot of people assume that all people who

are vegetarians, are these sort of Environmentalist nutjobs who blow up animal

research labs and vote for the green party. LOL This is not the case. And if I

embrace this lifestyle you will have a Staunch Conservative who is in the mold

of Ronald Reagan amongst you! LOL scray huh? I am also very much Catholic, but

respect the spirituality of all people. So if anyone comes into the forum and

makes generalities about " all raw foodists do this, or think this, or believe

this, I can be the poster child for why thats not the case. LOL. (Once you get

to know me, you will know I have a quirky

sense of humor.)

Live Long and Prosper

Marshall:

if you are looking for resources, or directions to where to find

resource, I can think of no better place than the list files, which

are located on the list website

/groups/rawfood

On the list website, there are links, files, and databases full of

inromation. You can find links to just about everywhere raw food,

articles on nutritional issues, recipes, transcribed list discussions

on various hot topics, recipes, information on equipment,

instructions, and more.

Happy researching!

Margaret
