Guest guest
I am a rep for organic products, and our toothpastes contain baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), which is a mild, natural abrasive used for cleansing and whitening. It is gentle, and not harmful! -- Kassia Fiedor 510.882.4703 miessence Certified Organic Skin Care, Hair Care, Health Care & Cosmetic Products *www.GreenLifeOrganics.com* " Food for your skin, literally! Guest guest
Hello, I too use baking soda for toothpaste. I mix it with a few drops of peppermint oil and lemon oil. I love how it cleans my teeth. The only thing that I have heard is that conventional baking soda contains aluminum, so it's best to get it from a health food store aluminum-free. All the best to you! Guest guest
Hey there. I haven't been using shampoo or conditioner for about six months now. I use baking soda for the " shampoo " - a small amount in my hand, moistened with water until it is pasty, rub it into my scalp, and then I use apple cider vinegar (not organic or with the mother in or anything fancy) as a rinse. I have rather long hair, naturally wavy. I have gotten SO VAIN about my hair. I just can't believe how amazing it looks, it astonishes me when I look in the mirror. It is soft, it shines, it feels so lushious, it has gotten more body and more wave. I will never, ever go back to shampoo. When I first switched over, I thought it would look like crap forever, because it was SO greasy. It stayed greasy for at least a week I think. I just kept using the baking soda and eventually the grease production just stopped. Now I only need to use the baking soda about every other day. I also use a smidge of coconut butter once a week, before I go to the beach. My hair is a little oily the next day, but not much. The coconut butter is just for fun, because I got so vain about my hair, and I like using that as a " conditioner " treatment, but it isn't necessary. My hair really responded to just the baking soda/vinegar. Oh, I also only use vinegar as a deodorant. Works better than any of the health food store ones I have tried and just as good as the aluminum-filled ones. ~Molly MI homeschooling mama of
Guest guest
Actually, I believe it's baking POWDER that has aluminum, not baking soda. Saja, you must have really clean teeth and terrific breath! Toothpaste doesn't work but baking soda does. You can prove it to yourself by getting some disclosing tablets and check the results, first after using toothpaste then after using baking soda. Amazing difference.
