Guest guest
Hi everyone, Actually, I'm not sure there is much to add here; you and others seem to have this one covered quite well. As a broad generalization, Doug (Graham)'s comments, shared in another post, hit the nail on the head. It is quite common for new RFs, and particularly those who pursue a program based upon high water-content foods (fruits/greens), to experience some hair loss, sometimes even extensive hair loss, as the body sheds old obsolete material. If one were able to witness what is happening on a cellular level, one might also observe billions of skin cells being shed, along with countless cells from throughout the body. It's just that we notice the hair more, given its rather high-profile nature and the importance placed upon appearance in contemporary societies. In most cases, hair regrowth parallels generalized restoration of health throughout the system. However, hair is a very low priority system from the body's perspective, so other improvements may occur sooner. A brief comment about the mind-body connection may be constructive. I encourage anyone experiencing such hair loss to reach inside to a place of faith and trust in the body's design and its own innate process. For many, such faith and trust may provide a solid foundation patience, to stay the course until the body arrives at a more aesthetically pleasing place. Hope this is helpful. Denise, I was actually losing my hair before I went raw. Almost immediately upon eating raw food I began losing less and less hair. On those occasions when I do eat cooked foods I notice that my hair quickly begins to fall out again. Having said that, I noted when I first started researching natural hygiene that others were commenting on their hair loss when first beginning a raw food eating plan but that eventually ceased. I know that Nora, Bob or Elchanan . and perhaps others . will offer their knowledge on the subject in time. Donna
