Guest guest
Hi everybody! I've been lurking on this group for just a short while and haven't posted, but after completing a 14 day fast (most of it water: 3 days MasterCleanse-- 8 days water-- 3 days water w/a pinch or lemon juice), I just had to share my happy results. During most of my fast I was on a camping trip near the ocean, so I had time and the right atmosphere in which to relax and get really close to my Original Self. Fasting is so wonderful for the spiritual aspect of our beings; it's amazing. I feel my life is forever changed by the experience, because it gave me a clear sense of my life's purpose and opened my heart and higher mind. Physically I had a pretty easy time of it-- only one cleansing crisis in the middle (felt sick for a few minutes, had to barf, some bladder irritation early-on) and I was a bit weak off and on, mostly in the legs, but still able to carry a 60 lb. pack. Otherwise I felt great and had no hunger. Since the fast ended-- it's been about 5 days-- I have continued to see the changes in myself, and they are a little mind-boggling. Of course, as in any fast (I've done many juice fasts), I lost some weight and I look quite a bit younger (strange guys in the Square are flirting with me again :-p), and I've clearly released a ton of toxins, but mentally I am a new person, it seems. I used to have trouble with motivation, and I was a procrastinater and couldn't make decisions. I am very focused now, can't wait to get up every morning and get to work on whatever is at hand, and every day I've been gleefully cleaning up and re-organizing every square inch of my apartment. Believe me, I was a slob before, for 57 years, so this is new. The change I'm most grateful for is a new feeling of inter- connectedness to others and to Everything-- with a resulting Flow that seems to permeate my day as never before-- and a newfound patience and deep calmness and clear focus. Ahhhh. . . fasting on water: even Codex Alimentarius can't take that away from us. Love, Sharrhan
Guest guest
Thank you for sharing your amazing experience with us! A camping trip near the ocean sounds wonderful. I really appreciate your honesty about how you felt, and I am encouraged by the fact that you were water fasting and still carrying a 60 lb pack! Leah Sharrhan <sharrhanw wrote: Hi everybody! Guest guest
Hi, all! Sharon, thank you so much for writing about your fasting. I have considered water fasting myself, but have not done it yet. I don't really think I've been in a proper environment to do so. Everything I've read says one needs to have time and a place to get lots of rest, so the body can cleanse itself. As of yet, I haven't found that. I am considering going through a program like the Tanglewood Wellness Center to fast. Have any of you guys ever done that? I am also curious about a message concerning herbal teas I saw come across here. Are herbal teas usually drunk on a raw food diet? According to the companies, even the organic ones, one must use boiling water to prepare the tea. So does this go against eating raw foods? I'm interested to hear people.e's views on this. thanks! Guest guest
Hi Sharrhan, I was wondering what other changes you have noticed. Also, did the water help keep the hunger away? Didn't you totally crave food when it was around? Janet - who has never fasted Leah Morrison <l_morrison2002 wrote: Sharrhan <sharrhanw wrote: Hi everybody! Guest guest
Hi Janet, Other changes. . . Let's see-- I've noticed my body is still losing a little bit of weight each day, even though I'm eating well; I think I had Candida before and now I know I don't (did I mention that before?); I'm eating totally differently and enjoying it immensely, having mostly raw vegies; when I've eaten enough I instinctively know it and I stop right there, even if there's still some food on my plate (couldn't do that before); my face looks distinctively younger; my skin is softer; my energy continues to soar and I'm very focused in the moment on what is at hand, working patiently and bringing whatever it is to completion; my stomach doesn't get bloated at all after eating (did before sometimes);I used to crave a Lara bar (raw fruit & nut thing) nearly every day and now they're languishing in my cupboard and I'll pprobably have my husband eat them; digestion is perfect; I was already friendly and open, but I've spontaneously developed much more warmth and compassion; everything is FUN now-- however mundane-- and the frustrations and irritations I felt before seem to have faded to a whisper. Guest guest
Sharrhan, All I can say is, " Wow! " Ok, I can say a bit more. I really appreciate this specific information. What you are enjoying is what I am after. I've been telling myself that at 38, I shouldn't feel like I'm old. I've gained significant improvement in my physical/emotional health in the last year. So many of my friends are willing to accept their physical maladies as a natural sign of aging. Thanks so much for responding. Janet ))) Sharrhan <sharrhanw wrote: Hi Janet, Other changes. . .
