Guest guest
Hi there, I'm curious whether there are folks on this list who eat raw dairy products. I am thinking of going nearly 100 percent raw... if not this year then for sure next spring... but I am a big fan of raw dairy products (we have our own goats) and curious whether there's anyone here who does that. I have a cousin who eats raw meat and raw eggs, but that is pretty gross to me. Kristen
Guest guest
Kristen - the more you read - the more you'll know what to do. Start reading The China Study. It will knock your socks off. Dairy is OUT in my book. Goat milk is the closest to breast milk - a way better choice than any milk product. I am a vegan - no raw meat - no raw eggs. Gross. Happy reading. Guest guest
Kristen -- I'm a newbie so definitely not an expert on these things. Have been eating mostly raw for about 10 days and lost 3 1/2 pounds. One of the things I'm carrying over from my old diet is my goats milk yoghurt. I love the stuff with garlic (lots of fresh garlic) and cilantro and tomatoes and jalapenos and various salad type stuff. Can't give it up and it fits pretty well with raw food, I think. Not sure what others think. I somehow doubt the goats milk yoghurt I buy in the store is " raw " but then maybe it is. It is a little pricey. Anyway, you are a lucky person, IMO to have goats. I would say that goats milk would be an excellent thing to incorporate in your diet. Can you make goats milk cheese raw? If so, then I am REALLY jealous. I agree about raw meat and eggs, not for me. rawfood , " kmdaven " <kmdaven wrote: > > Hi there, I'm curious whether there are folks on this list who eat raw > dairy products. Guest guest
Thanks- I'll watch the video folks mentioned just as soon as I cn figure out how to hook up these darn speakers on my computer. Grr. But, from what I have understood of the China STudy, it deals mostly in cow milk, and only with pasteurized whole cow milk. Raw milk (like ANY raw food, as we know on this group!) is much, much, much better for you. Check out the Weston A. Price foundation... From what I understand, even the nature of milk's cholesterol is altered in the pasteurization process. Of course, many people do not have access to safe raw milk. You have to get it straight from the farm. Intersting story today on CNN.com that a vegan diet reverses (yes, REVERSES) type 2 diabetes. Guest guest
This study says right in the beginning it is for " cooked " meat and milk. Some raw foodists eat raw dairy and I know a few who eat rare steak occasionally or raw meat Not on this list - I know.
