Guest guest
I bought Matt Amsden's book " RAWvolution " and wanted to make the nut loaf. However it says to use a green star juicer with the homogenizing attachment to homogenize the almonds, walnuts and sunflower seeds. I am wondering why you would homogenize nuts. Any ideas? After the nuts are homogenized you mix them with various veggies and herbs before dehydrating. Then they are dehydrated for 12 hours, flipped and dehydrated for another 20 hours. I'm wondering if I could just use my vitamixer and mix it for a long time on high speed. All of this stuff is so new to me. Thanks again for any help. You have all been such an inspiration to me. I'm hoping some day I can do the same. Tammy
Guest guest
Hi Tammy, You can just process the nuts in your food processor or in your vitamix. It should be fine. Guest guest
Tammy, I wouldn't try making that particular recipe in you VitaMix. In order to move the blades in the VM you need to have it a little more moist than what is desirable for making a " loaf " . Your VM will probably overheat and stop. Do you have a food processor? That would be preferable over the VM. The mixture won't come out quite as fine in texture as the recipe, but it will save you heartache by not burning up your VitaMix.
