Guest guest
Ughhh. I was so bad. I ate pizza. LOL. I AM MISERABLE and I can't sleep. OMG....so I'm new to the board and over the last several weeks I've gone from a harmful diet, to eating healthier, to vegetarian, to vegan, to raw. Or maybe now I should say attempts at being raw 70- 90%. I had serious cravings and gave in. Nothing else looked good. This is my first major slip-up so maybe I just need to find something to keep on hand for next time. Or maybe a sticky note on the fridge reminding me how yucky I feel and that the momentary satisfaction was good but not worth the bad later in my system. Actually the last two days have been REALLY hard to stay on track. Any ideas, info, or affirmations to help re-program my brain and my body? Has anyone had any luck with hypnotherapy or acupuncture on this? The initial drive to do this is wearing off already. I have a very sneaky smart inner voice trying to sabotage my efforts to employ a new healthy inner voice. Thank you in advance!
Guest guest
The last two times I tried to go raw I also gave in. This time I prepare foods ahead of time. If I need to soak nuts I start them Saturday night and I prepare a couple of things on Sunday that will last all week. Another reason I like my book " Raw Food Made Easy for 1 or 2 People. " Every recipe tells you how long it will keep in the fridge. I usually make walnut pate' or not tuna salad and 1 sweet. The not peanut butter cookies are yummy! I also keep lettuce and lots of fruit on hand. When I go out I take a small container of my pate' or some of Judy's power balls just in case and I travel with an apple or banana also. Just keep trying and you'll get there when you are ready. Good luck! Tammy On Aug 4, 2006, at 4:03 AM, divadolce_rocks wrote: > Ughhh. I was so bad. I ate pizza. LOL. Guest guest
Hi there! I know how you feel. Those cooked cravings can get bad sometimes. Affirmations are great! They helped me a great deal. I did them all day every day for awhile! :-) I did them for 20 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the evening and whenever my mind was free for a few minutes during the day. I also did hypnotherapy, it did seem to help. I HAD to stay raw to stay healthy because I was healing from fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue so a slip meant major pain to me, so I was very motivated. Some of the affirmations that I used were " I love raw food " " Raw food heals me " " I am vibrantly healthy " and " I love fruit " . I also had to untangle all of the associations that I had between food and emotions, avoiding feelings, etc. It has hard work for awhile, but definitely worth it. Give yourself credit for going through such a major lifestyle change, reward and nurture yourself a lot with non-food related stuff. Try to deal with your emotions with more positive, healthier coping skills. You can do this! If I (a former junk food addict and compulsive over eater) can do it, anyone can! :-) Also, the sooner you can get the point where you are enjoying natural foods without salt, spices, vinegars, onions, garlic, etc the better. I found that when I changed to a more simple, natural way of eating and let go of salt and spices my cooked food cravings diminished greatly! It was awesome. All of those flavorings are over stimulating and keep you craving stuff that isn't so good for you. Guest guest
Thanks so much for all the feedback! What's sad is when Audrey said slipping up creates major pain in her body and is therefore motivation, I realized that my body is so accustomed to pain and discomfort that my sensitivity to it hasn't perked up enough yet for pain to motivate me enough. Although last night LOL was an exception. Thank you for the affirmations too. I was watching " What the Bleep Do We Know? " last night - its a movie/docume about quantum physics and how we create our world and our experiences - so I'm in the process of re-labeling my water bottles with " love " and " healing " words to alter the molecular composition. I plan on doing this with my raw food too. Apparently even blessings can do this as well. Normally, I'd be hesitant to share that but I think this crowd is pretty open-minded to ideas about spirituality and food. I'm used to putting herbs and spices in everything including non- cooked so I think I'll be ok that way, and having them stay with me on my raw journey is helping so far. (I already cut out salt many moons ago.) I think the reasons I gave in were because I wasn't prepared to curb it with something yummy, I hadn't planned my dinner meal, and then making food choices in a post-sex euphoric state wasn't so smart apparently. I'm glad to be getting back in focus, thanks so much! Noelle:) rawfood , " Audrey Walker " <chilove88 wrote: > > Hi there! > > I know how you feel.
