Guest guest
Hi Tiffany, Your welcome about the article. I'm not a kale eater. I like swiss chard, collard greens and celery with pear in my green smoothies. I tried the kale but didn't like it. That's good you love parsley and broccoli sprouts. I also like sprouts. I bought the sprouts that have aduki beans, lentils and peas in them. They are so good. I'll have to buy some parsley. I love cilantro and eat cilantro every day. Have a good evening. Hugs, Janice from Ohio Thanks for posting these encouraging reinstatements, Janice! Like you, I find it so much easier to stay raw while researching raw. I'm surprised that cherries (esp. Montmorency) did not make this list nor have a mention. I understand that they are right up there with blueberries and pomegranates on the phytonutrient/antioxidant range! I have a question for everyone on kale, because I hate it! I could tolerate blending it up with bananas, but I was wondering, if I'm already eating 1/2 a bundle of parsley (I LOVE parsley!!!) and broccoli sprouts everyday in my mostly romaine salads, will I be missing any nutrients by totally cutting out kale??? Thanks, Tiffany Lohr
Guest guest
Hi again Janice, I guess I shouldn't worry about missing out on anything if I never eat kale? It's just that I've seen it mentioned in so many areas of raw food info. Your green smoothie sounds yummy with pear. Right now, this morning, I'm really really enjoying mine - I keep a Magic Bullet blender at work and put 2 medium sized bananas in it with a couple small ice cubes, 1/4 cup of purified water, a handful of cilantro and a handful of parsley. IT IS SO GOOD! The energy from the parsley in specific makes me feel like bouncing on my ball chair in front of everyone! What do you do with your adzuki, lentil and pea sprout mix? I buy those too, but never get around to eating them cause I'm not much of a bean (or grain) eater. But if there's some way to blend them into a hummus or something, I'm sure I'd make the effort. I haven't been able to find a recipe, just a recommendation to throw them into a salad, and that just didn't appeal to me. Thanks! -Tiffany Lohr Janice <jabberjan152 wrote: Hi Tiffany, Your welcome about the article. I'm not a kale eater. I like swiss chard, collard greens and celery with pear in my green smoothies. Guest guest
I don't like kale in smoothies, but I like shredded kale salads (a bit like this one: http://www.fromsadtoraw.com/Recipes/CantGetEnoughKale.htm), in fact I made one a couple of weeks back and my (not raw) husband loved it and had seconds! The trick is to leave the shredded kale with lemon juice (and whatever else) for a few hours or overnight to soften. --- Tiffany <bluelairess wrote: > Hi again Janice, > I guess I shouldn't worry about missing out on > anything if I never eat kale? Guest guest
Thanks, I can't wait to try this. I have tried Kale a couple of times but didn't let the kale soak that is probably they key to my failure.
