Guest guest
Hi Gang, Thanks for letting those of use how didn't know, know about Fitday. All I can say is YIKES. I am not 100% raw. I am about 80% I would say, and after figuring my food today on Fitday I am in shock. Holy COW. No wonder I am not losing much weight!!!!! Thank you SOOOOOOOOO much- it has already helped me. I am just so afraid of being HUNGRY ALL THE TIME like I feel like most of the day now....that's why I haven't gone 100%. I can't sleep if I am hungry and I get so darned crabby!!!! Are any of you 100% people hungry a lot or does this disappear in time??? I am also lazy in preparing foods- I was a fabulous COOKED food cook, but have no desire to make any fancy stuff raw for just me. Hubby is 100% cooked crap eatter. I love smoothies and eat a ton of fruit every day. But I have been eating nut butters in my banana smoothies...........way too much according to Fit day!! So those are going to have to go. And don't yell at me- I also still eat bread- organic whole grain sprouted bread...but bread none the less- tomato sandwiches every day with organic mayo. I know- that has to go too. The thing is, the bread is yucky without the mayo or butter or nut butter I use. So what's that tell me? Bread gots to go too....... Please tell me I won't starve to death or be crabby enough to kill someone on 100% raw. I really need to lose 60 lbs. Help please, Donna anne

Guest guest
I'm not nearly as experienced as other people here, but what I've found is that if I eat things like nut butters, they fill me for a while then make me hungrier. If I just eat fruit all day it takes ages for me to feel hungry again. I just have to make sure I fit some greens in too! My husband eats cooked food, but if I don't saw 'this is a raw meal', he'll quite happily have big salads for dinner, and fruit or fruit smoothies for breakfast. Then he eats whatever junk he wants for lunch when I'm not with him! --- Donna Masi <TribalFantasyDesigns wrote: > Hi Gang, > > Thanks for letting those of use how didn't know, > know about Fitday. Guest guest
Hi Donna, Donna, I enjoyed checking out the fitday site yesterday also. I found that I am not eating nearly enough food. I checked my calorie intake yesterday and it said I had only eaten 397 calories but 97 carbs. The odd thing is that I wasn't hungry though. I ate when I was hungry and that was that. I've only started eating raw last week but found that I am not hungry for soda or chocolate, two of my favorites. I did grab a sample of Gouda cheese walking through the store yesterday though. I have a feeling the lack of hunger does have something to do with eating fruit. I ate fruit all day yesterday and didn't have any hunger issues but the day before when I ate a bananna and the rest veggies I was a bit hungry before I went to bed. I almost grabbed some crackers. Oh and one of my favorites for not using bread is to wrap all my veggies in lettuce. Like a wrap without the tortilla. When I stopped eating meat (but still ate tuna) I wrapped my tuna salad in big leaves of lettuce and it was very good. Jen
Guest guest
In all likelihood, that sample, which I'm guessing you didn't count on FitDay, contained a significant portion of your total calories for the day. Gotta include everything with meaningful caloric content. Guest guest
I started out eating only fruit until 12 o'clock everyday and whatever I needed the rest of the day for two weeks. Raw or not. Just no meet. Then I attempted to go 100% raw. I have been doing well for about 5 weeks now. I think three things have helped me. Every time I felt hungry (at first) I would drink a glass of water, wait 5 minutes and then eat if I was still hungry. I have a half gallon jug I fill every morning. I usually drink about a gallon of water a day now. The second thing is I always try to travel with some sort of food. Bananas are good because they are very filling. I also try not to run out of handy snacks. Apples or celery and almond butter is one of my favorites. I am still eating a lot of nuts and the more filling foods. However, after being on this list awhile I am beginning to realize that eventually I won't. The third thing I do is if we go out to eat (which we do at least twice a week) I eat a snack before we go and most places have a dinner salad or a greek salad that I can get. If not, I don't stress I pick some sort of vegan meal or something with broiled fish. I have done this 3 times in the 5 weeks. I never allow myself to eat non-raw at home and only at restaurants where I can get something really close to raw. I have been making my own salad dressing and I carry that with me when we go out. Any diet I have ever tried I have starved with no results. I am rarely hungry now except if I don't eat enough after swimming laps. Sometimes I only realize I need to eat when my temper gets a little short with my kids. I feel great and all the weird things that were happening to my body seem to be easing off now. One amazing thing that has happened is that mosquito bites no longer bother me. They still bite me. After they bite me and I get a bump within a half hour it just goes away. I used to really suffer for days with bites and now they just vanish. My husband thinks I am nuts but its true. Also all the arthritis type pains and stiff joints I have suffered daily for years are gone. I just couldn't be happier. I hope this helps. Also, I can't say enough about " Eating Raw Made Easy for 1 or 2 People. " I have other great raw food books but this one has made all the difference for me this time. It has a weekly shopping list, sample menus and all the recipes have only 4 or 5 ingredients. You don't need any special equipment just a blender, food processor and knife. I have also learned to do a lot with my mini Black and Decker food processor. For instance if I am making guacamole I do the onions first in the tiny processor and then through everything else in so I don't have to chop with a knife. Hang in there. I am cooking standard american food for hubby and 1 daughter, vegetarian food for my other daughter and raw for myself. I think they are coming around. At least I have found some things they like now. Good luck! We are all rooting for you. Audrey>> Hi Audrey- What do you all do in the winter when fruit choices are basically bananas and apples???? LOL! This worries me too. I always get the feeling that I I eat more than three bananas a day I will gain weight or not lose any. I also worry that too much fruit will make my blood sugar too high. ( I was pre-diabetic when I was a cooked foodie ). I REALLY want to be all raw. More fuit.....I can do that! Guest guest
I think it's the difference between hunger and appetite. Rich foods and spices tend to stimulate appetite, and leave you craving food. Fruit digests quickly, but satisfies hunger without increasing appetite - at least that's what I find anyway. You need to eat enough fruit as well, which can take some getting used to. > <<<<I'm not nearly as experienced as other people > here, > but what I've found is that if I eat things like nut > butters, they fill me for a while then make me > hungrier. > > If I just eat fruit all day it takes ages for me to > feel hungry again. Guest guest
Yes, sorry. The author is Jennifer Cornbleet and the exact title is Raw Food Made Easy for 1 or 2 People. I made some corn chips out of The Complete Book of Raw Food yesterday and ate them today with the salsa and the guacamole from this book. I told my husband I felt like I was cheating everything seemed so yummy. Even my kids liked the cornchips. My hubby thought the salsa was great (he isn't a guacamole eater). The Cornbleet book is by far the only book that hasn't disappointed me yet in some way. Beware of the Walnut Pate, it is definitely my favorite food I make almost every week. If you ad the turmeric it tastes a bit mustardy. I like it without. When I get a craving for meat, I eat it on romaine lettuce with tomatoes and veganaise. I just found a recipe for raw mayo (fake) I am going to try when my veganaise runs out. tammy On Aug 10, 2006, at 1:29 PM, Leslee Reeves wrote: > Hi could you post the author of the book you mentioned ! > thanks > > " Hank@MT " <hank wrote: > I started out eating only fruit until 12 o'clock everyday > and whatever > I needed the rest of the day for two weeks.
