I have been taking alot of weight off since going well 99% Raw (as I still

have a coffee and occasional tea).

I have also lost alot of inches, more inches than pounds actually.

I have ALOT of tonning up to do! I have not been back to me pre-preganancy

size in 5 yrs after child #5.

Way too long!!

What is the best exercise to tone up as I take off?

I do alot of physical work outside, as in mowing the lawn, cleaning out the

chicken coop , tending and weeding the garden, and in a few weeks time I

will begin tennis lessons with my girls (only one hour a week). As far as

other exercise what is best for toning? Pilates? Aerobics? biily's boot

camp?

TIA

I think you mean toning :) After all, who would wish to add TONs to themselves?

I've noticed that lots of raw foodies are into yoga,

maybe because the mental approach of both complement

each other nicely. I personally love astanga yoga,

which is quite hard work but really rewarding (and the

type of yoga that will give best results in terms of

toning up).

This is a nice inspiring story (with dramatic before

and after photos if you like that sort of thing!) of a

young woman who lost 150lbs through raw food and

astanga:

It's also a good idea to do something cardio-vascular

- running, brisk walking, cycling, swimming, etc.

Running is particularly effective, and will really

improve your fitness, but take it very slow at first

(i.e. 10-20 mins with lots of walk breaks) so you

never get uncomfortable and gently build up.

Once you get into it, exercise will make you feel so

wonderful you'll wonder how you got on without it!
