Guest guest
Mike, I still pre-treat with our same old spray-n-wash. I am open to a new pre-treat option if any one on the list has a suggestion! I haven't tried the rock salt yet, I have been thinking about buying one of those huge bags of salt that you can buy for water softeners, but haven't done that yet either. I would think it has to be fairly small to dissolve quick enough. I also don't know what the environmental impacts are of using salt instead of commercial detergents. I would like to have the answer to that too. My alternative would be to do exactly what you are doing, and that is to use 7th generation's products. I had switched off the more toxic detergents and dryer sheets to the Seventh Generation products, but had never heards their was yet another option. A couple of more questions though. What do you do to pre-treat a stain or is this not really nescessary? Would rock salt work as well or does it have too many other components to be effective? Any negative environmental concerns regarding this? -Mike --- Leah Morrison <l_morrison2002 wrote: > Mike, > > I use 1/4 to 1/2 a cup of salt per load of laundry.
