Mike,

I still pre-treat with our same old spray-n-wash. I am open to a new

pre-treat option if any one on the list has a suggestion!

I haven't tried the rock salt yet, I have been thinking about buying one of

those huge bags of salt that you can buy for water softeners, but haven't done

that yet either. I would think it has to be fairly small to dissolve quick

enough.

I also don't know what the environmental impacts are of using salt instead of

commercial detergents. I would like to have the answer to that too. My

alternative would be to do exactly what you are doing, and that is to use 7th

generation's products.

I'll have to give it a try. I had switched off the more toxic

detergents and dryer sheets to the Seventh Generation products, but had

never heards their was yet another option.

A couple of more questions though. What do you do to pre-treat a stain

or is this not really nescessary? Would rock salt work as well or does

it have too many other components to be effective? Any negative

environmental concerns regarding this?
