But if his diet worked, he wouldn't require stimulants. Hi all! I wanted to know more about the problems with David Wolfe's raw diet recommendations. I am very new to this and love all the info that is generated here. Wolfe is all over the place here (and I am in the Midwest HA! ) there is not much of a raw foods lifestyle representation around here but when raw/living foods diet is brought up his name is usually touted. We are always behind the times in these parts...what are the downfalls of what he recommends. I have not had a chance to read any of his books but the fact that his website is all about supplements is a HUGE turnoff...and I sell supplements for a living (well I work in a place where we sell supplements thanks les _____________________ rawfood [ <rawfood > rawfood ] On Behalf Of shoe_lover26 Friday, August 18, 2006 6:02 AM [Raw Food] Re: DAVID WOLFE....slick salesman out for a quick $, or a truthfull teacher ? I am a little skeptical as well...most of what Mr. Wolfe preaches definitely makes sense, and I do believe him to be a very intelligent man, but with that being said he also is a human being trying to make a living like us all. If your success/ livelyhood depended on the public buying all of your products and attending your seminars wouldn't you be inclined to say as much as you could to sell them? We do not " need " everything he says we do, although I'm sure it's all healthy for us. My advice is to use common sense, and listen to your body. Too many minerals are just as bad as not enough! _________________ Hi everyone, David is very intelligent indeed, of this there is no question. He has made a discipline of mind control techniques, and if you ever get to watch him speak, you'll see the result. He REALLY knows how to work a room, a la Tony Robbins, one of his mentors. The biggest problem with the diet David recommends is that it is skewed toward low-water, high-fat foods and away from high-water, low-fat foods that are high in simple sugars and soluble (digestible) fiber. Most of the nutrients we require -- whether by volume, mass, number of nutrients, or whatever measure one might imagine -- are either water soluble {e.g., simple sugars) or water transportable (e.g., iron attached to hemoglobin). When people try David's diet, initially they experience success, as his approach represents a vast improvement over SAD. But eventually, people who eat this high-fat diet are faced with one of two choices: supplement, or change the diet. Most leave the RF world forever, the remainder transfer their well-earned wealth to David (and several other who sell massive quantities of supplements to RFs). As I've mentioned before, save your money, take a friend to Disneyland! And buy the very, very best foods you can find, regardless of the cost. It'll enrich your life and the lives of everyone with whom you connect, and it sends profound message -- your vote -- throughout the economy. Best to all, Elchanan
