Guest guest
I can agree with Shari. Besides, it holds common sense to regard garlic as mostly a toxin in the body because of the obvious eliminative process - it is very a very potent herb, again, one that one cannot make a meal out of! And especially if there is only " one " study about it threatening the myelin sheath around our brain cells, I would rather be safe than sorry. -Tiffany Lohr SV <shavig wrote: The only thing that bothers me about your writing is that it is continually referred to as " medicinal " . I do not choose to take anything on a regular basis that is " medicinal " . Anti-bacterial? Anti-fungal? Anti anthing and everything.....Well, here we go again with the germ theory. Not going there this time, everyone seems to know my stand on it so I'll hush up right now. I do love garlic, but my consumption has gone from everyday to once in the last 40+ days. And it still tasted great. But it will not be " 2 cloves per day of raw garlic cut into 1/8 " slices and dropped into soup or meat dishes " after " the cooking is done. " Not even on raw food. Guest guest
Oh please. Raw garlic (even more than cooked garlic) has hundreds of studies backing up its healthful benefits (such as its anti-cancer benefits... oh, but wait, we don't like " ANTI " anything?) and you want to talk about one study that has it damaging your myelin sheaths? TOXIN? Huh? On your planet perhaps. I have to say, if there's anything I dislike about this group, it is that tendency. No matter how wonderful a food is, someone will speak up telling you no no, it's BAD, and the newbies will believe it! What, are we all going to eat nothing but spinach and bananas for the rest of our lives. Oh, but wait! Spinach has waaaay too much oxalic acid... Kidney stones galore. Just bananas then? Raw garlic: Extremely good. Eat, eat, eat! Kristen rawfood , Tiffany <bluelairess wrote: > > I can agree with Shari. Guest guest
Sheesh, Kristen chill out. Maybe you need to cut back on how much garlic you eat if it makes you so upset. Shari
Guest guest
Peace, I am new to the group and the raw food lifestyle. I appreciate these words as I am seeking balance as I integrate the raw food way of eating into my diet. THe last thing I want is a list of shoulds and shouldn'ts as I try to figure this out. I seek to be an intuitive eater rather base what I eat on something outside of myself. Thank you, again. Guest guest
Hey Kristen, thats a positive part of this group, Both sides of a debate can be presented and heard, and in the end , you have to go with what sounds logical, and use your own Intuition, thats all anyone can ever ask really, and do the best you can as you grow and learn, but its always advantageous in my opinion to get Both sides, let each side present its best scenario, and than make up your own mind. dave
Guest guest
Tyra, I agree with you as I have taken on a huge journey to be raw. I am one who is still reading juliano and cornbleet. i like hearing about the monodiet but I am not there yet If i was not supposed to be here then I would not be I ask questions : is oil considered raw i would not think so but many raw foodists use it in their recipes. same with braggs/ vs nama shoyu / vs salt /vs nada i came here to learn , it seems some here want a list where everyone is at the same point intelectually and spiritually as in raw spiriutality . i have had a great learning experience and hope it continues but the snarkiness of some comments seems that maybe newbies should leave Tyra Olufemi <motherspirit wrote: Peace, I am new to the group and the raw food lifestyle.
