I have a question about corn. I have never really liked cooked corn (except for

popped corn which I have loved since childhood) I have recently been eating raw

almost extensively (bye bye popcorn!) and have noticed that when I eat raw corn

kernels off the cob that I do not see the big kernels in my poo like I do when

it was cooked corn. Have I just been missing them or do you think raw corn is

digested much more efficiently than cooked corn. I guess I will give it up

altogether , which is fine. I am still in transition stage :)

thanks lhr

[Raw Food] how long do you have to wait after raw veggies?

I am still getting a hang of the " wait this long " for this digestions and wait

this long for

this combined meal, etc.

I am simply wondering how long do you wait after eating raw veggies...say raw

corn and tomatoes

before you can eat fruit? Do you need to wait the 3 hours? or does that only

come into play when

you are eating combined food groups?

Thanks for your input! I have almost got the hang of it!

______________

Greetings Tiffany and all,

There is a bit more sophistication to food combining that what is popularly

taught. There are no

magic numbers, as you seek. Rather, the interval needed between meals is a

function of one's

present digestive capacity, the foods eaten/combination, the order eaten

throughout the day,

present blood fat level, and other factors.

As you progress along the raw food path, you'll likely eventually discover that

most popular

vegetables, corn in particular, are not the most wonderful foods for our

species, and you may

eventually choose to minimize or even eliminate many such foods from your

program.

In the meanwhile, here are a few ideas about food combining:

1. Water content - In general throughout the day move from higher to lower water

content foods.

2. Sweetness - In general throughout the day, move from melons, to other sweet

fruits, to

subacid and acid fruits, to greens and fats.

3. Fat and indigestible fiber - If you do choose to eat foods high in fat

(avocado, nuts, seeds)

and/or indigestible fiber (nuts, seeds, most veggies other than tender greens),

then incorporate

these later in the day, after you have finished eating fruits.

Most important, eat when you are genuinely hungry -- not when you are thirsty,

tired, or for

some other reason. Your stomach growling is NOT a sign of hunger, rather, it is

a sign of some

degree of indigestion.

There is much more ... but hopefully these tidbits will help a bit.

Best to all,

Elchanan
