Is anyone interested in buying fresh (non-frozen) durian? I have found an

importer and am

considering becomming a distributor. I'm just wondering if there is a demand

for this.

I havn't been able to find fresh durian and now that I have access to it am

really grateful. I

was thinking if I could get other people interested that I could buy in bulk and

get a better

price than average.

I also bought some jack fruit. Does anyone know if these are realated to

durians? They look

similar.

What is considered a fair price for durian? I'm not much of a business man but

would like to

start a mail order fruit business. I need to find out all the fruits I can get

and some costs. I

was really blow away from my trip to the fruit importer today. I wasn't even

aware of many of

the fruits they had. There are so many fruits that most people (at least people

I know) havn't

been exposed to.

I'm also concerned about price, but it would still be a lot cheaper

than traveling to Asia to get it! ;-) Put me on that list, and if it

grows, let me know.

Thanks!

John,

Please count me in. I love fresh durians...Of course, the same as everyone

on this list, depending on the price...

i just got back from my trip to China, specifically the capital city

Beijing...I have had a great time. what i loved most about Beijing is the

everyday farmer's market. It has tons of fresh fruits and vegetables, some

of which were just out of the farmland. And most importantly, everything was

so cheap. You won't believe it. For example, less than $1 for a huge seeded

watermelon, $2 for a big durian, $1 for 8 kilograms (probably 10 pounds)

peaches, $1 for 2 pounds of Litchi,... Wow... I loved it.

I do know some chinese dealer. If you are interested, you could contact me

off-list.

All the best

Ai
